Over the last decade, Webrepublic has grown from an ambitious startup into Switzerland’s leading digital agency. More recently, Webrepublic has launched a subsidiary in South Africa to work hand-in-hand with our HQ in Switzerland. Our team in Cape Town has grown and we are now looking for a Tech Lead E-commerce to expand our local presence into a large-scale operation.

As the Tech Lead E-Commerce, you will develop integrated e-commerce strategies for our clients. You will pursue a cross-channel, customer-centric approach to drive client success by focusing on business drivers and KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Head of Performance Marketing, your duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Monitoring market trends and competitor strategies,
  • Working on pitches and cooperating with key stakeholders within the agency to create integrated e-commerce strategies that offer added value to clients,
  • Developing, defining, training, and standardising e-commerce services,
  • Managing important partnerships,
  • Providing expert guidance to the Service Ambassadors,
  • Jointly developing new service opportunities with Service Ambassadors.

Qualifications and Skills
As an ideal candidate, you must have the following:

  • Experience & Expertise:
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the e-commerce sector, with proven expertise in channels and platforms such as SEM, Social Commerce, UX & Conversion Rate Optimisation, Feed Management, Affiliate Marketing, Email Marketing, and Marketplace Optimisation,
    • Ability to translate complex technical briefings, strategies, and insights into clear, compelling, and simple messages understandable to stakeholders with varying levels of expertise;
  • Mindset & Approach:
    • Demonstrate a strong passion for technical advancements in e-commerce,
    • Enjoy collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders,
    • Proficient in understanding and translating client business objectives into concrete e-commerce goals,
    • Familiar with target group attitudes, behaviours, and perceptions through the effective use of market data, research, and customer data;

  • Qualifications:
    • Fluent in  English, fluent in German is a plus,
    • Hold a degree or further education in Marketing, Communication, Business, or a comparable field.
